Delayed Again, Naturally--

What crazy times we're living through! We decided to delay our 50th high school reunion weekend for another year, to September 23-25, 2022. Stay healthy, check out the website, and please make sure we have your current email address!

...would you believe 2021?!

Dear Classmates,

These are extraordinary times.  When we started planning our 50-year reunion almost two years ago, we had no idea of what was to come.  Now, because of the coronavirus pandemic and the ongoing stay-at-home order, we have made the decision to postpone our reunion.  We have spoken with the Air-Tel Plaza Hotel and they have guaranteed the dates of September 24, 25, and 26, 2021.  More details to follow.

Coming up on FIFTY FREAKIN' YEARS!

Every four or five years, depending on whether we're dealing with the class of 1970 or the class of 1971 as the starting point, we have another reunion. For some of us, it's a lot of fun because we don't normally see the people who will celebrate with us in our "regular life" and we're delighted to see old friends once again.

But some people don't come because maybe they don't have fond memories of high school... or maybe they don't feel like they've been "successful enough" in the decades since high school and they're reluctant to subject themselves to scrutiny.

NO SCRUTINY HERE! We're just delighted to see everybody who chooses to come. We don't care if you've gained weight or lost hair. We're not checking bank accounts or cars or trophy spouses. We're not going to get sidetracked by politics. We just want to get together and hang out and appreciate that, against all odds, we've come this far!

Please join us at the our venue, the Airtel Plaza Hotel in Van Nuys, September 25-27, 2020 - we'd love to see you!

Lots of fun (you should'a come!) and we have pics

Some folks did a great job of embracing the old Hollywood theme (hellooo, Vickie! Sunglasses and a faux leopard coat!) and you can check out photos taken by the professional photographer here. We all left excited about the 50 year reunion, coming up in 4 or 5 years, depending on with which class you graduated.

Back to the Future and Old Hollywood

I looked for Marty and Doc Brown a few days ago but no such luck--

I did, however, find that John Marshall High School (3939 Tracy Street, Los Angeles, CA 90027) is having another reunion for the combined 1970 and 1971 classes, although ALL Marshall grads from any class year are welcome to attend; the theme will be Old Hollywood.

SAVE the DATE: September 24, 2016 (exactly five years since the last one); this time at the Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City.

There will be an event on Friday (included in the price), the reunion itself on Saturday, and for those staying at the hotel or sufficiently local, brunch on Sunday (not included in the price).

So pry open some space on your calendar, next September, and come join your fellow Marshallite Barristers for some "Old Hollywood" fun.

We broke 150!

Thanks for coming and supporting and enjoying the Reunion! More than 30 people showed up at the Marriott Friday evening to hang out and enjoy each other's company and I'd guess more than that were present for breakfast or brunch Sunday morning... which, for some of us, came very early!

Not only did we have a colorful reunion, we were also sharing the hotel with an Irish Step Dancing competition, so I saw lots of adorable little girls (and grown-up girls, too) with big trophies - what fun!

Lots of photos and comments starting to appear over on Facebook, so follow the link and enjoy! We will also put together a commemorative CD or DVD, so please send us your photos! Details at the John Marshall 1970 & 1971 Class Reunion website.

Ah! happy puppy!!

Bubbling Under 140

...and we can still take your PayPal payment (you'll save $11 over "at the door" pricing) and Joanna can apparently do a final update of our numbers, having already given the Burbank Airport Marriott our preliminary final numbers (!! - I know, that's an oxymoron, eh?!).

Bottom line: get over to the Reunion website and use the PayPal link. If you're super quick-like-a-bunny I might even be able to get your personalized nametag made up in time for Saturday night-- ;D
